Sunday Stash Report: 12/22/13

IMG_00000348

We’ve been doing a lot of this here, what with lots of snow and Christmas movies and Chex Mix, but there’s been some sewing, too.

IMG_00000351

This week:  +0 yards,  -8 yards
YTD:  +145 yards,  -259.75 yards
Net stash used in 2013:  114.75

I’m pleased with that.  My projects are all finished and wrapped, so no last minute panic.  I hope you are finished, or at least enjoying your work.

Getting it Done in November and December

I hope Judy does this again for next year.  I suppose I could make my own list, but somehow doing it with all of you makes it matter more, and I really am getting things done!

November Goals

1. Finish quilting my throw quilt from the Oh My Stars quiltalong.

2.  Finish piecing and quilting OMS throw for my shop,

3.  Finish piecing scrappy red, blue, gray cabin top (Quilt of Valor?)

4.  Piece aqua and gray chevron throw quilt for shop.

5.  Scrapitude Mystery Quilt, Step 3.

December Goals

1. Quilt for DS (Christmas)

2. Placemats (Christmas)

3. Pillowcases (Christmas)

I can’t add links to these because they’re not started yet.  The quilt is designed and I’ve pulled some scraps for it.  Hopefully you’ll see it soon.

How did you do with your goals?  Crazy busy time, if you got anything done you’re doing well!

Sunday Stash Report: 11/24/03

IMG_00000294_edit

Nothing in and nothing out this week.   I’m quilting the turquoise and gray chevrons, so that will be in next week’s report, I hope.

This week:  +0 yards,  -0 yards

YTD:  +131 yards,  -231.25 yards

Net stash used in 2013:  -100.25 yards

So what’s Yuri so interested in, if it’s not the stash?  His boy is home from college, and was pulling in the driveway when I took this.  Sure made his ears perk up.

May you all spend this week with people who make you happy.

Sunday Stash Report: 11/10/13

Lots of sewing this week!  I finished the second Oh My Stars! quilt and allowed myself some string blocks (not completed into anything yet) just for fun.

IMG_00000260

My Oakshott fat eighth bundle arrived!  So gorgeous!  This was the prize I won from Fionna at Celtic Thistle Stitches in her Holiday Memories Mini Quilt Contest.  And I bought half a yard of Christmas fabric to bind my last quilt.  I know, you’d think something in the stash would have worked, but I swear nothing I had was right.  I have really done well using up Christmas fabric (and Christmas-y reds, I guess).

This week:  +2 yards,  -7.5 yards

YTD:  +131 yards,  -220.75 yards

Net stash used in 2013:  -89.75 yards

Making my way towards 100 yards destashed in 2013!  How are you doing?

Sunday Stash Report: Making a little progress

IMG_00000216

Six yards of fabric came in this week, but more went out, so I am inching along.  Some of it is already spoken for, needed to finish the second Oh My Stars quilt.

IMG_00000230

I used .75 yard for the Bread Head sign, and 7.5 yards for the Oh My Stars throw quilt that I plan to keep.  I have to, because Krissi loves it.  It’s finished and in the wash now, so pictures soon.

This week:  +6 yards,  -8.25 yards

YTD:  +129 yards,  -213.25 yards

Net stash used in 2013:  -84.75 yards

I have two months to make my goal of 100 yards.  How are you doing on your destashing?

Getting It Done in October and November

Yes, I am sewing more than I was at the end of summer.  But there is gardening, and canning, and…things.  I guess from here on in, we’ll be talking holidays.  For instance, I will be gone a week in November.  And December, well.  I think winter, January thru March, is the most productive sewing time of the year.  But I do know that setting these goals every month has made me as productive as possible.  I really keep them in front of me and try to achieve them, just to share them with all of you.  And not look like too much of a wuss.

October Goals

1. Piece and quilt Oh My Stars throw quilt for shop. (almost finished piecing…backing and batting are pieced…)

2. Piece and quilt OMS throw quilt for myself. ( Pieced and partially quilted.)

3. Step 2 of Scrapitude Mystery Quilt

4. Several Xmas wall hangings for shop

November Goals

1. Finish quilting my throw quilt from the Oh My Stars quiltalong.

2.  Finish piecing and quilting OMS throw for my shop,

3.  Finish piecing scrappy red, blue, gray cabin top (Quilt of Valor?)

4.  Piece aqua and gray chevron lap quilt for shop.

5. Step 3 of Scrapitude Mystery Quilt

In my defense, the Christmas wall hangings were paper pieced, and took a while.  Also, I threw in a little impromptu wall  hanging this  week for my friend who just opened a new bread and vintage clothing shop. (Yeah, breads and threads…!  And she follows The Grateful Dead).  It was very experimental, new materials, bobbin work, tulle, etc.  And, I’m rather proud of it.   So it’s not all just leaf drives and composting here.  I am sewing…

How are you doing with your goals?  It’s okay if you’re a little behind.  🙂

Lots of little sewing, not too much fabric used, but none came in, so I’m edging toward my goal of 100 yards destashing.  The holiday wall hangings took 2.5 yards.  Working on using up really old Christmas stash.

Net stash used in 2013:  -82.5 yards

Just a little fabric in this week, just barely offset by what I used, but it was in the right direction and the math was easy.  I needed some fabrics for my landscape quilt, and the two on top were very much on sale.  And sprinkled with gold metallic spots.  Obviously, I had to buy them.

AND, I’ve embarked on a great destashing project:  the Scrapitude Mystery Quilt at Quilting for the Rest of Us.  There’s a Flickr group, and it’s being heavily discussed/shown on Twitter, #scrapitude.  It’s just starting, so join us.

This week:  +3.5 yards,  -4.5 yards (wall hangings)

YTD:  +123 yards,  -184.75 yards

Net stash used in 2013:  -61.75 yards

Instead of Yuri, whose main accomplishments are catching chipmunks to release in the house, and getting in the way of quilt photographs, I thought I’d show you my son today.  He is accomplished at many things, including playing trumpet in the Marching Thunder band at Marshall University, Huntington, WV, where he is a sophomore.  Yes, We Are Marshall, the movie.  They march about 300 instruments.

Sunday Stash Report. 9/8/13

Yes, a bit of new fabric, but it’s necessary!  The solids are Kona Water, Kumquat, Candy, and Bluejay.

And, of course, I finished the Coffee Quilt, so that more than offset the purchases.

This week:  +5 yards, -7.5 yards
YTD:  +119.5, -180.25
Net stash used in 2013:  -60.75

I think I’ll get to my 100 yards destashed goal by the end of the year, don’t you?  How are you doing?

Thank you to everyone who left such nice comments on my Blogiversary post yesterday!  It was great to hear from you all.
