Sunday Stash Report: 6/24/18

Very little sewing happening here, so you can look at my garden.

I’ve completed one baby quilt, this nautical quilt, since my last report, using 3.5 yards.

(I’ve also ordered some fabric, but we won’t talk about that until it arrives.)

This week: + 0 yards, – 3.5 yards

This year: + 44.25 yards, – 72.25 yards

Net destashed  added in 2018: 28 yards

Good luck with whatever you’re doing!

Nautical Finish

2018-06-15 15.35.24Today I finished this very soothing neutral baby quilt in nautical fabrics.

2018-06-15 15.38.08detailI quilted it with diagonal rows of waves, and a few ropes thrown in for good measure.

2018-06-15 15.35.47The anchor is appliqued from a Moda Grunge red fabric.

2018-06-15 15.35.54I also used the Grunge for a faux flange on the binding.

2018-06-15 15.36.02And, for you Yuri fans, here is the customary roll on the finished quilt.  It’s the first time in many months that he has run out to participate in a quilt shoot, so I take that as a good sign, even though he doesn’t have all his pep back.  Thank you if you’ve been inquiring about him.

You’ll find this quilt in my Etsy shop.

If I keep this up, I’m on track for using my goal of fifty yards by the end of the year.

How are you doing?

Little Train Finish

2018-06-02 08.58.00I finished this quilt a couple of days ago, but today had the perfect bright, overcast conditions to photograph it (and since then, the sun has come out in full).

2018-06-02 08.56.41This was a quick fun project for my Etsy shop, and to work on using low-volume fabrics.  You notice that I still crave some contrast, but this is pretty light for me, isn’t it?

2018-06-02 08.58.00 detail I gave a lot of thought (too much) about the quilting.  I wanted to quilt train tracks, but wasn’t happy with any I drew- too straight or too curvy.  The tracks printed white-on-white on the fabric are irregular and hand-drawn.  I opted to quilt a grid freehand (unmarked) across the quilt, using the piecing to keep me lined up (on track?).  I’m not sure if it looks fun and organic, or as if I can’t quite quilt straight lines, but I feel good about it.
