Animal Finish

I found this animal panel (“Bramble” by Moda) and the glen plaid for the backing. The animals have great patterns, and I thought it would be fun to add more small cream and black prints around them. It was, but pretty soon my eyes were throbbing from all that pattern.

The borders were supposed to be glen plaid, but I switched them out for a slightly calmer fabric.

I used a black Grunge for the binding. We were looking at stripes on Twitter, but I just couldn’t do any more pattern!

I do like it now that I don’t have to look at it so closely. 36″ x 42″ Find this sharp little quilt in my Etsy shop soon.

So. Seven yards of fabric came in this week. But you can see that it was essential. Look at those squirrels!

Also, a rainbow baby quilt was created, and there will be pictures when it stops snowing.

  • This week: + 7 yards, – 2.75 yards
  • This year: + 7 yards, – 6.25 yards
  • Net fabric destashed/added this year: .75 yards

Eh, the year is young!

Use your stash!

Sunday Stash Report: 1/16/2022

These blocks for Charlotte Hawke’s Pinwheel Surprise mystery quilt are using a lot of stash, but I can’t count it out till it’s finished.

This week I made the Red and Gray baby quilt, which used 3.5 yards.

  • This week: + 0 yards, – 3.5 yards
  • This year: + 0 yards, – 3.5 yards
  • Net fabric destashed/added this year: 3.5 yards

Again this year I would like to turn over my stash a lot, and get rid of about 50 yards. I came close last year!

Good luck in your efforts!

Red and Gray Chevrons

I finished this bright baby quilt. It’s made completely from scraps from the twin sized commission quilt I did in the fall. I think I have enough to make another by adding just a little more fabric.

This is available in my Etsy Shop.

2021 Quilt Collage

The best I can tell, I made twenty-two projects this year, from coasters to a twin quilt. Here they are, in no particular order.

An eclectic group, with the Star Wars baby quilts remaining popular.

We’ll have to see what 2022 brings!

Sunday Stash Report: 1/2/2022

Here’s my final report from 2021.

I quilted my turquoise version of Charlotte Hawke’s 2021 mystery quilt, Scrappy 4 Patch Stars.  (Here’s the Christmas version.)

I also sewed 8 blocks for Kat’s Covered in Love block drive. Some are better than others, but I tried.

  • This week: + 0 yards, – 8.5 yards
  • This year: +69 yards, – 115.75 yards
  • Net fabric destashed/added this year: 46.75 yards

I was hoping to use 50 yards, and this came very close.  Importantly, I added new fabrics to my Stash and used older ones, including scraps.  I’ll show all those projects in a few days.

How did you do?

Here’s hoping that 2022 is better us all and we all complete lots of projects with that Stash.
