Sunday Stash Report: 1/11/15

image

Cold, cold, cold its been here!  I have done lots of sewing, but the only finish is this elephant baby quilt, 2.75 yards.

My eQuilter order arrived with 15.5 yards, so the numbers will be lopsided for a while.  But it is beautiful fabric (and I’ve already used some of the elephants).

This week:  +15.5 yards,  -2.75 yards
This year:  +15.5 yards,  -6.25 yards
Net fabric destashed added in 2015:  9.25 yards

Keep warm and keep sewing!  I’m linking up to Sunday Stash Report at Patchwork Times.

Sunday Stash Report and January Goals

IMG_2208aThe first report in a fresh year!  And I have a finish to start the year!  No new fabric came in, but I have ordered some, so the numbers will probably be bouncing around.  This year I’ve set my destashing goal at 50 yards.  (Here are the rest of my goals for 2015.)

.

This week:  +0 yards,  -3.5 yards

This year:  +0 yards,  -3.5 yards

Net fabric destashed:  3.5 yards

January Goals

1.  Sew a Quilt of Valor from stash.

2.  Order supplies for surface decoration on quilts.

3.  Design and begin a winter-themed art quilt.

4.  Deliver quilts I’ve designated for donation.

5.  Audit Jenny Beyer BOM Craftsy Class.

6. Complete Step One on Charlotte’s Scrap in a Box Mystery Quilt.

This is more items than I usually focus on, but January is prime sewing time, and I truly do expect to get a lot done!

Hope you are off to a great start in 2015!  I’m linking up to Sunday Stash Report at Patchwork Times.

Happy Winter Solstice!  And Happy Destashing to me!  I did it, I made 100 yards net fabric use for the year!  Thank you to all who said I could, and to all who cheered some of the very scrappy quilts that got me here.  Nice to go into the new year 100 yards lighter.  Now, if that would work with pounds…

image

Here is the quilt that put me ove the top, using 7.5 yards.

This week: + 0 yards, -7.5 yards
YTD: +126.25 yards, -229 yards
Net stash used 2014: -102.75 yards

image

And here is last week’s project that I couldn’t show.  Each gift contains a box pouch, zipper pouch, and tissue cover.

Hope you are enjoying your Christmas crafting and that you have a wonderful holiday!

The sewing definitely lost out to the Christmas shopping, dining out, and wrapping this week.  And what I did make were gifts,  so I didn’t post any progress.  They only used 1.5 yards.  This is a teaser, freehand roses quilted in metallic thread.

This week: + 0 yards, -1.5 yards
YTD: +126.25 yards, -221.5 yards
Net stash used 2014: -95.25 yards

Creeping up on it…

Here’s a Christmas puzzler for you.  See if you can spot the cat who’s not allowed on the table.  You’ll have to look very closely, she’s sure that sitting perfectly still and avoiding eye contact makes her invisible.  Right.

Sewing has happened this week, and no fabric buying!  I did have to order a new roll of batting, but that just helps use the fabric.  I used two yards for a customer’s wall hanging, and seven and a half for another purple and green quilt, this time for donation (Krissi is modeling it).  If you missed the post on Spring Violets, it’s here.

This week: +  0 yards, -9.5 yards
YTD: +126.25 yards, -220 yards
Net stash used 2014: -93.75 yards

I can so do this!  You can, too!

This week: + 4 yards, -10,5 yards

Will I make it to 100 yards?  I’m trying!

2.  Make something with curved piecing.  Maybe purple and lime?  Well, yes!  That would be Spring Violets.

4.  Research quilting ideas.  A bit, yes.

No change in numbers this week, but at least the sewing is happening.  This week I made seven more pillowcases (yes, only five in the picture, you’ll have to trust me).  I also made two smaller cases for my MIL, using about one and a half yards, and made the last two kids’ boxy pouches, half a yard.

image

I had to purchase three yards for a commission, so I also bought five and a half more yards of solids, since I was already paying shipping.  I have plans for them.  Also, I receive a half yard of pretty Christmas fabric from my MIL.

This week: +9 yards, -9 yards
YTD: +122.25 yards, -193.75 yards http://www.patchworktimes.com/2014/11/09/stash-report-week-45-2014/
Net stash used 2014: -71.5 yards

I also started a quilt using all that purple and lime stash.  I’m really happy with it, but its not speedy quilt, so it may be a week or two before we see results.

Hope you are sewing and using that stash!  I’m linking up with Sunday Stash Report at Patchwork Times.</u

As I stopped and started repeatedly on another project, I filled in the time by creating this Blue Christmas quilt.  More photos and a post soon when the light is better.  It used seven and a half yards, and I didn’t buy a thing.

This week: +0 yards, -7.5 yards
YTD: +113.25 yards, -179.75 yards
Net stash used 2014: -66.5 yards

Can I make one hundred?  We’ll see!

Carry on with your destashing!  I’m linking up with Sunday Stash Report at Patchwork Times.

Nothing in this week, but two yards out.  I’m sending some strips to Darla for a project.  Otherwise, we’ve been a bit lazy about sewing.

This week: +0 yards, -2 yards
YTD: +113.25 yards, -172.25 yards
Net stash used 2014: -59.00 yards

The Stash seems so massive, and I have two whole basket drawers of green, but do I have medium to dark greens?  No, not so much.  What I have seems to be lots of light green and apple green (I’m saying “apple” to be kind to it.  Some is practically flourescent.  Anyone making a quilt like that?  Very happy to help.)

Also, purple.  Why do I have so much and so many shades of purple?  Hmmm.  Purple and lime?  Well, if this happens, you’ve been warned!

Have a great week, and use that stash!

Sunday Stash Report 10/12/14

This week I used 8.5 yards from stash for the Christmas Plaid quilt.  Also, 18 yards of batiks arrived from Hancocks of Paducah, but I’m not sorry.  At $3.99/yd, these will make some gorgeous backs.  A minor setback for the numbers.

This week: +18 yards, -8.5 yards
YTD: +113.25 yards, -170.25 yards
Net stash used 2014: -57.00 yards

Still two and a half months to go!  Lots of time to use more!
Have a good week!
