Wow, first Stash Report of the year!  Look at this nice, positive, destashing number long and hard because you won’t see it again for a while!  Massive amounts of fabric have been ordered and arrive this week, wrecking havoc with the stats.

So far in 2016, I’ve used two yards to make these dozen 12.5″ donation blocks that Alycia is collecting for Quilts of Valor.  It’s a fun and easy way to use your 2.5″ strips.

This week: +0 yards, -2 yards
This year: +0 yards, -2 yards
Net destashed in 2016: 2 yards

I’m going for fifty yards out of the Stash again this year, but I’ll have to be patient as I crawl back out of the hole I’ve dug bought myself. I believe!

I’m linking up to the Stash Report at Patchwork Times.

Way to go, Valerie, what a start! I wss thinking about tracking my stash this year, then I thought of the insane amount of fabrics I ordered in the huge Craftsy nd Southern Fabrics sale, I’m scared even thinking about it 🙂 Where did you shop?

You should track, Kati. It’s a little humbling, but it’s really helpful, and this is a good time to start. I bought fabric from eQuilter and from Fabric Shack.

I do love your flag quilt. But there is a certain set of rules regarding using the US flag, or a representation of it. One includes never hanging it upside down, as that signifies defeat or a fallen country. So, if you were to make your flag quilt again, I would recommend keeping all the blue-star fields to the upper left, and the red and white stripes to the right.
