Wow, Sunday again already!

This week I bought 6.5 yards of fabric, the White and Snow Kona, and the Christmas print. Because I don’t have enough Christmas fabric. Hmmm.

And I used 1.75 yards to make nine donation blocks for Kat’s Covered in Love.

This year: + 63.5 yards, – 83.25 yards

I know, I’m going backwards in usage, but I know I’ll reverse that soon. I’m feeling all that Christmas fabric!

Keep using your stash!

Here’s the finished baby quilt I never got around to posting.  Finally getting back into a bit of a routine, although the garden is taking some of my time.

Does it look a little poochy in the center?  The quilting is really uneven, with lots on the squares in the borders compared to the “star bunting” in the center.  After this was taken, I went back and added more swags and more stars, and it’s flatter now.

Is it just me, or are so many panels really long and skinny?  They make funny shaped baby quilts, without some help.  Does the shape work better with bed-size quilts?  But it’s a pretty panel, and flannel!

And everything needs chevrons, right?  I keep waiting, but they’re still all over the Pinterest nursery boards.

This week I’m making some scrappy star blocks for Kat’s Covered in Love.  These are the centers.  Yes, sock monkeys.  Playing sports.  And the Millenium Falcon.

Just back from vacation, so no sewing has happened, but I did purchase 2.5 yards from Crazy Moose Fabrics in Greenville, ME. These will go with the Christmas panel I bought last month.

Watching the stash shrink!

I’m not very good at low volume. I really admire the neutral nurseries, especially the nautical ones. I just couldnt quite get there.

I had this pretty, pale sea glass fabric ready for the inner borders, but I found it blah. One final check of the fabric closet found the last of the fish batik, and they really wanted to swim with the whales. I think it fits just right, but it sure isn’t neutral, is it?

Sewing happened! But just a little and not a finish. I’ve almost put together a baby quilt top I had been doing as leader-and-enders. When it’s finished it will be completely from (very old) stash.

What did happen this week is that I got a bug to to sew some things from panels, so I bought 11.25 yards from eQuilter. I think all of it was on sale. That took my numbers down a lot, but I’m finding the fabric inspiring.
