Evening in the Garden Quilts

Adventures in Fabric Art

WIP Wednesday

Yesterday I put the borders on the Christmas version of Charlotte’s Mystery Quilt.

I was so pleased to be able to use up some very old Jinny Beyer border fabric. Of course, the fabric had alternating stripes, so I have another set to put on a future quilt…

Currently raining here, breaking up a little heat wave and making it much more comfortable for sewing!

Great choice on those borders; they really ground the design in a dramatic way! If you see this and have a chance to respond, I’m curious – are the white areas on the far outside part of the fabric or some sort of binding tool? If that’s part of the fabric, it’s a brilliant addition, pulling the white all the way to the edge. And if it’s a binding tool, I’d like to know which one, because they look useful!

Such a great quilt. The borders are neat. I know what you mean about leftover fabric for another quilt. Take care.
